We are already looking forward to the second edition of Taste California Wines with the largest selection of California wines in Bulgaria. In 2024 we are upgrading with 52 wines from 15 wineries and 3 special guests representing the wineries. This is what we call "drinking from the spring" - wine and history!
We at CASAVINO are happy to have added the legendary Duckhorn family to last year's selection, with its various wine projects Migration (Sonoma Coast), Calera (Monterey) and Goldeneye (Anderson valley)! Thanks to them and another new entrant, Hartford Court (Russian River Valley), we will have an outstanding presence of Chardonnay and the star of the Russian River appellation, Pinot Noir!
Save the date 2/17/2024 (Saturday) and turn on the CASAVINO notifications!

NEW FROM THE GOLDEN STATE THIS YEAR
Again this year, you'll taste wines from the most famous and oldest wineries in the US. You'll also taste wines with excellent value for money from America's own favourite brands.
ANDERSON VALLEY
The Anderson Valley in California's Mendocino County now ranks among the best regions for Pinot Noir in North America. While production is not large, quality is rising as rising stars join native winemakers producing elegant and powerful Pinot wines. Cutting laterally across the Coast Range rather than between the ridges, the western or "deep end" of the Anderson Valley is just a few miles from the cold Pacific Ocean, while the town of Boonville is about 20 miles to the east. This unique geographic location results in a wide temperature range, with daily high and low temperatures sometimes varying by 10 or 20 degrees. This enables Pinot Noir producers to keep the acid development in line with the formation of sugars and aromas during the long, warm summers. In the eastern regions and on the ridge tops, there is sufficient heat for Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc to ripen. There is also sparkling wine. The Anderson Valley is a sparkling wine paradise, but for now, we'll just dream of them coming to Bulgaria.
DUCKHORN FAMILY WINE will be presented by Brian Bostwick, Export Director of Duckhorn Vineyards.
The estate was founded near St. Helena in Napa in 1976. The first vintage in 1978 consisted of 800 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon and 800 cases of Merlot. Duckhorn valued Merlot for its approachability, smooth texture and youthful drinkability and today it is the foundation of the winery's flagship wines. In 2015 Duckhorn acquired the Three Palms Vineyard, a site considered one of the best for Merlot in California. Duckhorn has been buying fruit from this vineyard since 1978, and between 2011 and 2015 they gained exclusive access to its fruit.
The Sofia Event Center will once again be our venue to meet wine celebrities from Duckhorn, Black Stallion, Francis Ford Copolla - all three will be represented by special guests, part of the wineries team. They will personally talk about the wines, the history and everything you ask them about wine and the people behind it!
Let's call it a tradition - give yourself a California wine tour in February while you're standing in Sofia looking out at the Vitosha Mountains.
The USA is far away, but on 17.02 it will be very close, thanks to an event without parallel.
Pure magic! Cheers!
